Super Bowl Sunday Facts!

Posted January 30, 2012

Super Bowl Sunday is only six days away! Whether you like this year's teams or not (the New York Giants and the New England Patriots), you will probably attend or throw a Super Bowl party. I came across so many fun facts about the Super Bowl that I just had to share. I found these interesting facts courtesy of the Gloucester Times.

- The average amount of calories consumed while snacking during the game is 1,200.
- There are 69.6 million pounds of avocados (enough to cover Cowboys Stadium field in almost 27 feet of avocados) consumed around the world on Super Bowl Sunday.
- 90 million pounds of chicken wings (450 million individual wings) are consumed on this day.
- Super Bowl Sunday is the biggest winter grilling day of the year.
- Only on Thanksgiving do we consume more food.
- 6 % of people call in sick Monday after the game.

Wow! Those numbers are pretty outrageous! If you’re hosting for a Super Bowl party this weekend, you will probably be busy preparing food for your guests. Our design of the week is displayed on a cutting board to represent the upcoming football festivities. I love brown and blue together, and I think the trellis pattern is so lovely.

Maybe you’re not into football, but you can’t help but be amazed by these crazy facts listed above! I hope everyone has fun with their weekend plans!

Our blue and brown trellis pattern cutting board can be personalized with either a name or monogram.
